Drake: Rihanna Broke My Heart

While Rihanna is rumored to be dating her ex Matt Kemp again, the “We Found Love” singer also dated rapper Drake back in 2009.

After Rihanna’s disastrous relationship with Chris Brown ended, she briefly dated Drake, who was a newcomer to the music scene at the time. While everyone saw their relationship and was like, “He’s the rebound guy,” Drake always insisted, “I’m not the rebound guy.”

Draka says that Rihanna broke his heart and that he was hurt way more then she was when the relationship ended.

"I've probably been hurt more than I've hurt someone else. [With Rihanna, I wasn't] necessarily the rebound guy. At the time it hurt, but she didn't mean to. I'll never put that on her. I was hurt because I started to slowly understand what it was. I guess I thought it was more,” reveals Drake to Elle magazine.

Awwww. I mean, Rihanna was actually assaulted by Chris Brown, and then here comes along Drake, this barely famous newcomer from Canada. If that doesn’t scream wholesome perfect rebound, then I don’t know what does.

“That was the first girl with any fame that paid me any mind. You spend days reading about this person in the magazines. All of a sudden you have this number-one song and you're at some birthday party and there she is. And you're just some naive kid from Toronto staying in some shitty-ass hotel who got invited to this party on a whim. That's just how it happened.”

Wow, that’s some “how-they-met” story. Uhmmm, I accidentally got invited to a party and Rihanna was there. She probably though I was Lil Wayne. Whatever, I’m still better than Chris Brown.

Like most stars, Drake says it’s difficult to date when you’re famous because women don’t trust him. What!? If you’re famous all you have to do is make it rain dollar bills, flash your SAG card and use the phrase “hotel parties” and I’m sure anyone would date you. Oh right, the “trust” part.

"[It's hard] to get women to trust you. When you have a woman in your life and you're telling her, 'I'm in New York working on my album,' and you're actually in New York working on your album, but they're saying you're in the Bahamas with so-and-so, it's hard for her to believe. I've had women lash out based off the fact that they think I'm lying when I'm not,” says Drake.
