George Clooney Fuming Over Canalis Text Claims

Notoriously private actor George Clooney has spoken out to dismiss reports his ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis sent him a series of angry texts after learning of his reported new romance.
The Hollywood hunk split from Canalis in June and he is now rumored to be dating former female wrestler StacyKeibler.

A report in US Weekly magazine this week suggested Canalis was unhappy to learn about Clooney’s new girl, and sent text messages to his cell phone expressing her dismay at the reports.

Clooney has now taken the unusual step of commenting on his romantic life to dismiss the rumors, and has demanded reporters correct their story.

He tells TMZ.com, “(The report) was completely fabricated in order to sell magazines. I never comment on my personal life unless it affects others… and this lie affects others.

“Since I would be the only actual witness, I ask you to correct your story immediately, but that would assume you cared at all about telling the truth.”

George Clooney loves showing off his hot girlfriends. He buys them gorgeous dresses, takes them on luxury vacations and awards shows. But if you start loving the lifestyle a tad bit too much, you’ll be cut off immediately.

When George and Elisabetta Canalis first split everyone assumed it was because she wanted to get married and he…well…obviously doesn’t. But of course there’s more to the split than just marriage talk.

George apparently got sick of Elisabetta’s love for the spotlight. He was starting to think she loved the spotlight more than him.

“On vacations, she’d spend forever in her room, primping in her bikini, then go strolling on the beach for photographers to snap pictures of her,” a source tells Us Weekly.

“She was obsessed with the attention she got. George lost interest when she showed her true colors.”

I can totally see it. Those skimpy bikinis she wore always made headline news. You don’t wear thong bikinis unless you’re asking for some attention. Unfortunately for Elisabetta the world is going to care for another 2.5 minutes before we lose interest. That’s usually how long it takes him to find a new girlfriend anyway 

George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis split after two years

George Clooney is single again after splitting with longtime girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis.

The Ocean's Eleven star and his girlfriend released a joint statement to People.com on Today Wednesday (22Jun11), confirming the sad news.

It reads, "We are not together anymore. It's very difficult and very personal, and we hope everyone can respect our privacy."

The split comes just days after TV presenter and model Canalis gave a heart-warming interview to Italian magazine Chi, in which she said, "I am very happy at the moment... We are a couple that never gets bored."

She also hinted that she was hoping to one day become Mrs. Clooney, adding, "I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married."

George Clooney's Girlfriend Wants To Marry

Although the Hollywood heartthrob has vowed never to wed again after his first marriage to Talia Balsam ended in divorce in 1993, Italian TV presenter and model Elisabetta Canalis - who George has been dating for over two years - has revealed the actor is her ideal man and she would love to marry some day.

She told Italian magazine Chi: "I am very happy at the moment - thanks to my man and my fairytale is continuing. We are a couple that never gets bored.

"I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am. I don't need anything to confirm how happy I am. My maternal instinct has not kicked in yet but my mother says when it does, it will be like a lightening bolt."

Elisabetta is renowned for her fabulous figure but reveals she works hard to stay in shape.

She explained: "I don't always have the stomach muscles I have and I get cellulite as well like everyone else. I stay fit and I exercise, I go horse riding and I have discovered Asian food with rice and soya which keeps you in shape."

Hollywood’s favorite Bachelor is ringing in his fiftieth birthday on Friday, and he’s looking as good as ever.

George Clooney celebrated his birthday Thursday night at Beverly Hills’ Mr. Chow with Italian actress and girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis.

A ton of other celebrities were present, including Kathy Griffen and Kirstie Alley, who sent updates via Twitter:

"Jeez... I'm having dinner and I swear this is the most star studded restaurant I've ever been in!!... Impressive!!!" Alley wrote.

She later followed up with, "Happy birthday George Clooney. Great to see u.. Better to hug u."
