When the royal couple visited the Northwest Territories of Yellowknife in Northern Canada, they were gifted Harry Winston diamond encrusted brooch and cufflinks to signify “mutual respect and affection.”
Kate Middleton’s gift was a 4.5-carat platinum and pave diamond brooch in the shape of the official polar bear logo of Canada in a semi-circle representing the northern lights. Prince William received a set of 2.48-carat cufflinks for William with the same bear designs.
Wow, a bear brooch? I’m sure Kate is going to have a lot of occasions to wear a bear brooch. When they visit LA, I’m sure they are going to be gifted some swag bag filled with diamond encrusted iPhone cases and gift certificates for yoga classes.
Canada produces almost 10% of the world’s diamonds and are conflict free. Kate’s brooch contains 302 diamonds and Williams’s cufflinks contain 390 diamonds.
“It is an honor to provide these gifts that combine Harry Winston design and craftsmanship with the natural beauty of Northwest Territories diamonds,” said CEO of Harry Winston.
