Lady Gaga Launches ‘Amen Fashion’ Tumblr

After having conquered Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, Lady Gaga appears to have her eye on adding the blogging platform Tumblr to her social media empire. The singer quietly started her own Tumblr blog called Amen Fashion, named after the Born This Way bonus track “Black Jesus † Amen Fashion,” earlier this week and has already scored a huge number of likes and reblogs from other Tumblr users. So far, Amen Fashion mainly features photographs of the pop star wearing typically avant garde outfits.

Since follower counts on Tumblr are not made public knowledge, it’s impossible to know just how many of Gaga’s fans are keeping tabs on the new site. If Gaga can bring even a fraction of her over 11 million Twitter followers over to Tumblr, it would be a huge boon to the still-growing social network.

Tumblr’s eagerness to bring Gaga into the fold has already sparked a minor controversy. When Gaga requested the username amenfashion, the Tumblr team had to seize the name from a user who had already registered the name for a dormant blog. This isn’t the first time Tumblr has had to do this in order to please a big name user, but it nevertheless has annoyed some users who resent celebrities and institutions not facing the same limitations as regular folks.
