Anxiety mounts over Gov Aregbesola’s health

Anxiety is mounting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital over the state of health of the state Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

The situation is further heightened by the absence of Mr Aregbesola from state functions for the past three weeks.

Unconfirmed reports claimed the Governor has some health challenges which forced him to travel out of the country to seek medical attention.

It was gathered that the Governor recently collapsed in his room and suffered some injuries before he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in India.

But the Director of Bureau of Communications and Strategy, Mr Semiu Okanlawon, dismissed the anxiety over the governor’s health, saying “the Governor is hale and healthy.”

Mr. Okanlawon told Vanguard yesterday that he personally received message two days ago from the Governor to carry out certain official assignments.

While describing the health rumour of Aregbesola as handwork of the Governor’s perceived political opponents “who do not wish him well”, Okanlawon noted that the Governor did not “have any reason to keep his state of health secret
