Jaden Smith received a seven-figure sum for starring in The Karate Kid

Child star Jaden Smith reportedly received a massive seven-figure sum for starring in the hit movie The Karate Kid.

Jaden, now 12, was reportedly paid two installments - one $900,000 sum and one $100,000 sum - for starring in the film when he was just 10 years old, according to TMZ, who got hold of the contract from 2009.

The film has since made over $150million in the domestic box office and it's claimed Jaden has since received another $2million bonus.

According to TMZ, the youngster also had several more in-contract perks from the deal and since the film did so well at the box office it is thought he might have made even more.
