Denise Richards and Richie Sambora Split--Again

Did you know they were back together? Well, they were and now they aren’t. Denise Richards and Richie dated for a year after Denise Richards split with Charlie Sheen. They broke up in 2007, rekindled their relationship in November and now have already called it quits.

How does Denise Richards stay lawfully married to Charlie ”Crazy” Sheen for five whole years, but can’t make it work with Richie “Normal” Sambora for a couple months? Someone needs to talk to that woman about priorities.

  “They had a moment a few months back when they were going to give it a go, but have decided they’re better as friends,” says a source on her relationship with Sambora.

  Ahh, the old “friend zone.” That seems to be a popular excuse for Denise Richards lately, who recently said her ex husband Sheen is like her “brother” now. When they got divorced, instead of “irreconcilable differences” Richards checked the box for “He’s [like] my brother” and also “ewww.”

  Richards once wrote about Sambora in her memoir, “The Real Girl Next Door” that “Richie and I shared an easiness I hadn’t before had. We were able to be open, honest and completely authentic with each other, with no judgment.”

  In other news, Denise Richards was on an episode of “30 Rock” last night where she played a really really dumb version of herself. She played herself, sure, but her “role” on the show was playing the celebrity endorsement for an “idiots rally.”

  I wish I were making this up. Denise Richards must really know how to laugh at herself.

  According to “30 Rock” creator, Tina Fey, she says Richards was a good sport, you know, agreeing to play the idiot version of herself.

  “Denise Richards is awesome,” says Fey, “We went to her and she is so funny in the episode and she has such a great sense of humor. She plays a version of herself where she is the celebrity spokesman of the idiot committee and she was really, really funny doing it and so delightful to be around.”
