Kristin Davis Adopts a Baby Girl

Kristin Davis just announced that she adopted a daughter a few months ago.

The 46 year old "Sex and The City" star has never been married and this is her first daughter. Her new daughter Gemma Rose Davis was adopted in the US and Kristin tells People, "This is something I have wanted for a very long time. Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever have imagined. I feel so blessed."

Kristin once publicly announced, "I don't know if I'll ever get married," so if the woman wants a baby she proves she doesn't need a man to do it! She went out and got herself a baby.

Davis is not the first single woman to adopt a baby.

Sandra Bullock: When Sandra Bullock was married to Jesse James, the two had plans to adopt a baby boy. Unfortunately Jesse James sucked, cheated on her, and Sandra separated from Jesse just at the same time that her adoption was finalized. Because of the cheating scandal she kept a low profile about the adoption but ended up finalizing the adoption of her son Louis Bardot as a single mother.

Angelina Jolie
: While she now has like a minivan full of kids with her life partner Brad Pitt, Angelina started adopting as a single mother. Angie separated from Billy Bob Thornton in 2002 and immediately after the split she adopted Maddox. In their divorce she received sole custody of her son. Although she adopted and raised Maddox as a single mom, Angelina adopted Zahara and Pax with Brad Pitt.

Denise Richards: Richards has two kids with her ex husband Charlie Sheen, Sam and Lola. Single mom Richards decided it was time for baby no. 2. She adopted a baby girl Eloise Joni in July but says the process wasn't easy, "Some people think if a celebrity wants a baby, they get one the nest day," she once told US Weekly. What are you talking about, I though they gave babies out in swag bags at every celebrity event. KIDDING.

Edie Falco: Star of "Nurse Jackie," Edie Falco was a single mom when she adopted her two kids, Anderson in 2004, and Macy in 2008. Edie claims that it was her dog that inspired her to adopt, "I have this dog named Marley, and it is a kind of love I had never known... She made me realize I wanted to adopt children.

Mary Louis Parker
: The star of "Weeds" has one son with her ex-Bill Crudup and has since adopted a baby girl, Carlone 'Ash' Aberash in 2007. She told People, "I finally just decided, 'Okay, I'm going to do this, and it's going to be really hard because I'm single, and I'm going to do it anyways," she shared.

Madonna: After Madonna split from Guy Ritchie in 2008, she adopted her second child in 2009. And no, it wasn't 24-year-old French dancer Brahim Zaibat. That's her boyfriend, not her son. She adopted a daughter, Mercy James.

Sheryl Crow: Crow adopted both her sons as a single mother. After splitting with Lance Armstrong, Crow adopted two-week old son Wyatt and then three years later she made Wyatt a big brother by adopting another boy, Levi. After adopting her first child she said, "I'm very happy where I am and don't feel any pressure to get married. There won't be anybody coming between Wyatt and Mom."

Meg Ryan: Meg Ryan divorced her Dennise Quaid in 2001, then in 2006 while still raising their son Jack, Meg decided to adopt a baby girl Daisy True
