Fashion: Banana Republic Launching Mad Men Collection

Banana Republic, in conjuction with Mad Men costume designer, Janie Bryant will be launching a collection inspired by the TV show.

“Working with Janie [Bryant, Mad Men's costume designer] to gain a true understanding of the Mad Men look and feel was a delight,” Banana Republic Creative Director Simon Kneen said in a statement.

“Janie was instrumental in helping us achieve the series aesthetic and standard of authenticity with this capsule collection.”

That’s great and all, but Mad Men was set in the 60’s so lets just hope that they update their ‘Mad Men’ inspired clothes to reflect 2011. There are only a few people out there that dress like they are still in the 60’s and that’s my Nana and her friends.

The collection will feature high waisted skirts, trench coats, 60s-style dresses and leopard print pumps.

The Mad Men collection will hit stores on August 11.
