Pastor’s son kills mum in church

A 29-year-old man has killed his mother in a Pentecostal Church in Uselu, Benin City, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Peter Ogboi, told reporters.

The man, identified as Abraham Ovie, accused his mother of hindering his prosperity and has allegedly quarrelled with her many times in the past.

On the day of the murder, Ovie, the son of a pastor, reported traced the mother to the Chapel of Glory International Church where he hacked her to death with a broken plastic chair and repeated stabs to the face and other parts of her body.

The Edo Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Ogboi, said Ovie is presently in custody assisting the police to solve the mystery behind the act.
