British businesswoman wins damages for botched facelift

A British businesswoman who suffered nerve damage following a facelift operation carried out by a surgeon who she claimed 'played God' was awarded 6 million pounds (9.6 million dollars) in compensation by the High Court in London ruled Monday.

The court ruled that Penny Johnson, 49, became a 'different person' following the surgery, which left her with 'serious physical and psychological consequences.'

In her complaint, claimed that the surgeon carried out 'experimental surgery' during the 2003 operation which left her with a 'constant buzzing' around her eyes.

Johnson had asked the court to grant her a proportion of a total of 54 million pounds she claimed she had lost in past and future earnings as a shareholder in her husband's business, which failed in 2009.
