Last month, PHCN had issued a press statement saying that its consumers in the state owe up to N900million, adding that the debt was capable of crippling the supply of electricity.
Petrol stations in the state are making huge daily sales as customers now have to purchase fuel to run their generators.
The residents have, however, urged the state and federal governments to come to their aid by looking into the situation.
Reacting, the district manager of PHCN in the state said the recent power outage was due to the damage of some equipment. He said that PHCN workers are working round the clock to ensure that those equipment are up and running and electricity restored to the state.
