Adeboye urges Nigerians to thank God for peace in nation

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has advised Nigerians to thank God for the peaceful conduct of the April general elections.

Adeboye gave the advice on Sunday at the RCCG headquarters in Lagos during a special service for pregnant women.

“We thank God that despite the fears expressed by many before the elections, April has come and gone and Nigeria is still in peace,” the cleric said.

He said that in spite of the post-election violence in some states, Nigerians should be grateful for the continued unity of the country.

Adeboye commended Gov. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State for his efforts in developing the state.
Congratulating him for his re-election victory, Adeboye expressed support for the governor.

“Please tell him we congratulate him for his victory and we will pray for him more, and that we are solidly behind him,” he said.

The pastor prayed for women desiring children and encouraged them to have faith in God’s ability to give them children.

Adeboye advised Christians to intensify efforts in evangelism which, he said, is a cardinal ingredient for divine breakthrough.

“The reason some of our prayers are either delayed or not answered at all is because we are not winning souls.

“If you want your prayers to be answered, begin to win souls,” he urged.

Tthe event was attended by Fashola’s wife, Abimbola, and the deputy governor-elect, Mrs Adejoke Orelope- Adefulire.(NAN)
